Location of Hiroshima

Geographically, Hiroshima Prefecture lies in the southwest of Japan’s main island, Honshu, comprising of 14 cities and nine towns. It is situated in the center of the Chugoku-Shikoku Region bordered by the Chugoku Mountains to the north, and the Seto Inland Sea to the south.
There are two World Heritage sites. One is Itsukushima Shrine and the other is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.

How to get to Hiroshima?

Hiroshima city is linked the other main cities in Japan through two main transportation means: Hiroshima railroad station and Hiroshima airport.

The railroad station of Hiroshima in the center of the city, is less than two hours from Kansai (Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe) and four hours from Tokyo by shinkansen (bullet train).

Hiroshima airport in the eastern part of the city, links the main international Japan’s airports (i.e., Narita and Haneda airports) in less than two hours flights. Then, scheduled, and regular limousine buses from Hiroshima airport are available which arrive at the center of Hiroshima city within 45 min. Whilst, shinkansen is a more convenient to Hiroshima upon arrival through Kansai international airport（Osaka）or Fukuoka international airport.

From Hiroshima Airport to Conference Venue

The Airport Limousine Bus takes you to either the Shinkansen Exit of Hiroshima Station, or the Hiroshima Bus Center(Bus Terminal). From the HBC, International Conference Center Hiroshima is 10 min a walk, about 800 m to Peace Memorial Park. Approx. 3 min by a taxi.

  • Take No. 24 Hiroshima Bus for Yoshijima from A-3 at the south exit of Hiroshima Station, and get off at “Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park.”

Streetcar

About 25 minutes
  • Take a streetcar for Eba or Miyajima, and get off at “Genbaku Dome Mae (Atomic Bomb Dome)”. From here, on foot about 10 minutes.
  • Take a streetcar for Ujina, and get off at “Fukuro-machi”. From here, on foot about 10 minutes.
